Force Protection Awarded $42M Contract Expansion

Sep 25, 2008 (financialwire.net via COMTEX) -- FRPT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- September 25, 2008 (FinancialWire) -- The Department of Defense said that it has added $41.8 million to an existing Force Protection (NASDAQ: FRPT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) contract for continued work on mine resistant armor protected vehicles.

The contract is for the purchase of equipment and services for MRAP vehicles that Force Protection makes. The Army and Marines use MRAP to protect troops against roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Shares of Force Protection fell 10 cents, or 3.4%, to close at $2.84 on Wednesday
