Using Vitesse's Carrier Ethernet transport solutions, the company said ECI will enable telecom service providers to build end-to-end (E2E) assured Ethernet service delivery with advanced quality (QoS) for access aggregation, as well as edge and metro core network applications. The solutions made possible facilitate carrier-class metro Ethernet over SONET/SDH networks, supporting any Ethernet-based applications and services, including business, triple-play, Ethernet-based 3G mobile aggregation, and Ethernet leased line services - all with carrier-grade quality.
"Vitesse's Carrier Ethernet chipset is one of the elements powering ECI's 1Net offering, a family of products and services that provide network operators with maximum flexibility in the ever changing network service mix and for capacity demands," said Alon Moshes, vice president, marketing, Network Solutions Division at ECI Telecom. "Vitesse allows us to deliver a proven solution with industry-leading performance for a compelling packet optical transport platform."
"Only Vitesse can provide the total solution for Carrier-class Ethernet transport over the existing SONET/SDH infrastructure," said Tony Conoscenti, vice president of product marketing, for Vitesse. "We continue to make the strategic investments necessary to provide our customers with the leading edge technology required to make Ethernet ubiquitous throughout the metro and core networks."
