China Life to try simple rural life insurance service

BEIJING, Sep 26, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- LFC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. ( 601628.SH; 2628.HK; LFC.NYSE) has got the approval from China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to try simple life insurance service in rural areas of China.

The insurer will launch nine products for the experimentation.

The service will firstly cover counties and villages in nine provinces of Shanxi, Helongjiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Guangxi, Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai.

China has an enormous farming population but almost no insurance products were designed for them. Market is quite huge there, as many analysts believe.
