Drug arrests score stash: A drug house near Sovereign Bank Stadium was raided.

Sep 27, 2008 (York Daily Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- MSBHY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- As a known drug house was being raided in York, undercover narcotics agents could hear the York Revolution's playoff game Tuesday.

Once inside the home in the 100 block of Arch Street near Sovereign Bank Stadium, police seized $2,000 in cocaine, $513 in cash and a stolen Taurus .357 handgun.

"The game was starting as we were doing the raid," said Detective First Class Andrew Shaffer, who leads the narcotic's unit. "We could hear the announcer. We were right behind the stadium."

Adam Swam, 35, of York was arrested inside the home and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, felons not to possess a firearm and receiving stolen property of a handgun.

The city's narcotic unit was busy this week, charging nine people with drug-related offenses and confiscating drugs, cash, handguns and vehicles.

The biggest bust was at a home in the 700 block of West Poplar Street, where police seized $28,000 in cocaine, $4,000 in marijuana, $5,800 in cash, a stolen handgun and a car.

Police found drugs and cash spread throughout the small one-bedroom apartment, including on the kitchen table, couch and cabinets.

"Nothing was hidden," Shaffer said. "It was all out in the open."

Kalief Watkins, 33, and Herschel Lloyd, 18, both of York, and Bernard Turner, no age given, of the Bronx, N.Y., were charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana and receiving stolen property of a firearm. Watkins also was charged with felons not permitted

to possess a firearm.

Police said five other people, all of York, were also arrested during the raids this week:

--- Angel Nieves-Sanabria, 20, of the 100 block of South Queen Street was charged with possession of heroin and marijuana. Police seized $2,714 and a small amount of heroin and marijuana.

--- Dave Lynder, 25, of the 600 block of Girard Avenue was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Police seized $500 in marijuana, $4,719 in cash and a 1989 Infiniti.

--- Helen Bonner, 57, and John Nace, 48, both of the 500 block of East Boundary Avenue were charged with delivery of cocaine. Police seized $150 in cocaine and $50 in cash.

--- Dishawn Rascoe, 18, of the 700 block of Chestnut Street was charged with delivery of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver cocaine. Police confiscated $1,600 in cocaine and a 1993 Buick.

SEIZED

--- $31,750 in cocaine

--- $4,500 in marijuana

--- $13,796 in cash

--- Two stolen firearms -- a .40 caliber Sig Sauer and a Taurus .357 handgun

--- Three cars -- a 2000 Mitsubishi, a 1989 Infiniti and a 1993 Buick
