Meanwhile, a caller to the police station reported seeing a blue car that was "all over the road," before the driver pulled into the Sunoco gas station on Colon Street, where she had gotten out of the car and was staggering around the lot, the witness said.
When the officers arrived, they identified Donna R. Matczak, 50, of 224 Canal St., Salem. Their report said her eyes were bloodshot and her speech was slurred.
Matczak refused to take a field sobriety test and was taken to the station for a Breathalyzer test, which she couldn't complete despite three tries.
She was arrested and charged with drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
