ABB, LDK Solar order contracts of 36 mln USD signed

Sep 28, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- LDK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- BEIJING, Sept.28 Asia Pulse-ABB has lately signed an order contract valued at 36 million US dollars with LDK Solar Co., Ltd., a China-based manufacturer of multi-crystalline solar wafers.

According to the agreement, ABB will provide electronic system, equipment, project and program management services to LDK Solar's solar polycrystalline silicon manufactory plant.

The plant will be the largest polycrystalline silicon manufactory in Asia when it begins full operation, with an annual output of 15, 000 tons.

Polycrystalline silicon is mainly used for producing multi- crystalline solar wafer, a basic raw material of solar battery.
