Textron announces expansion into Mexico

Sep 30, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- TXT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Textron Inc (NYSE: TXT), a multi-industry company, announced on Monday (29 September) that the company will expand its operations in Mexico.

The company has entered into an agreement with the state of Chihuahua in Mexico to develop and build a new manufacturing facility, which will operate as Textron International Mexico (TIM).

The company said that the new facility will be used to manufacture various minor assemblies, structural elements and wire bundles for the Bell 429 commercial helicopter. These parts will then be shipped to Textron's Canadian helicopter manufacturing operation for final assembly.

Textron expects to employ approximately 375 at the new facility.
