Mechel OAO reports acquisition of three new Komatsu dump trucks

PowerRating -- Mechel OAO (NYSE: MTL), a Russian mining and metals company, declared
on 30 September that it has entered into an agreement to acquire three
Komatsu AFE 830E mine dump trucks for its Yakutugol OAO coal mining
subsidiary as part of its capital investment programme, for
approximately USD10.0m.
The mine dump trucks, with carrying capacity of 220-tonnes, will be
used for overburden transportation. The assembly of the dump trucks has
begun and is expected to be completed in late October.
Komatsu mine dump trucks are reportedly capable of withstanding the
harsh environment of Yakutia. The machines have enhanced workability,
which is accounted for by higher operational speed indicators and
technical readiness coefficient.
