In a press release Tuesday, Sgt. Jan Burreson said officers were called to the Wal-Mart store at 1325 N. Denver in Loveland when employees became suspicious of four people buying a large amount of electronics on a credit card.
Police contacted the four people -- two men and two women -- who had apparently charged more than $1,000 in merchandise to a stolen credit card.
While police were investigating the incident, they traced two cars in the parking lot -- a 2007 Jeep Cherokee and a 2006 Honda Pilot -- that had been stolen from the Denver area. Inside the vehicles, Sgt. Burreson said officers found stolen property and more than $100,000 worth of stolen jewelry.
Three were arrested in the incident, and one woman was released pending charges. The three suspects were identified as:
--Anthony Johnson, 22, of Englewood, charged with possession of narcotics, identity theft, aggravated motor vehicle theft and theft by receiving.
--Anthony Martinez, 36, of Littleton, was charged with drug possession.
--Janae Gallegos, 20, of Englewood, charged with theft by receiving.
Burreson said photos of the suspects will not be released because of the ongoing investigation in the Denver area thefts.
