BRIEF: Idex buys German company for $101 million

Oct 01, 2008 (Chicago Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- IEX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Idex Corp. said it paid $101 million to acquire Germany's Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, a maker of specialized pumps, valves and control equipment used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The Northbrook-based maker of fluid and metering technologies said it expects the acquisition of Richter, which had 2007 revenue of about $53 million, to begin adding to Idex's earnings in 2009.
