The company's total sales of passenger vehicles stood at 16,586 units in the domestic market in September, a decline of 2.5 per cent over September 2007, Tata Motors said in a statement here.
Indica reported sales of 8,598 units, down 24 per cent over September last year, it added.
The Indigo family recorded sales of 4,667 units, up 100.5 per cent over September last year. Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 3,321 units, up one per cent compared with September 2007.
In the commercial vehicles segment, sales in September in the domestic market stood at 28,648 units, compared with 27,036 units sold in the same month last year, up six per cent.
Sales of light commercial vehicles stood at 15,927 units during the month, a growth of 23 per cent over last year, while medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales stood at 12,721 units, down 10 per cent compared with September last year.
Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal in the first six months were 97,905 units, down 4.5 per cent over the same period last year.
Commercial vehicles' cumulative sales in the domestic market for the fiscal were 1,45,740 units, a growth of 10 per cent over the last year, the company said.
