The second annual North American Xerox Alliance Partner Conference will focus on the Xerox Extensible Interface Platform(TM) (EIP), a software platform based on Web standards that allows independent software vendors and developers to easily create workflow applications for Xerox office multifunction products and to customize the system touch screens. Xerox has received more than 1,500 requests for the EIP software developer kit since making it available for free download in 2007.
"This gathering is about working together with our partners to fuel technology-based solutions to problems," said Ursula Burns, Xerox president, who will be keynoting the event.
"Businesses are no longer looking at boxes as stand-alone peripherals; they're expecting the technology to do more. And whether it's software that enables intelligent routing, scanning to repositories, or customized secure access to devices, that's what EIP offers partners - more."
Taking place from Monday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 16 in Savannah, Ga., the conference agenda will offer attendees insight on how Xerox provides software partners with global access to enterprise and small-to-mid-sized businesses, as well as sales and marketing support. In addition, the event will serve as an opportunity to interface directly with Xerox engineers and provide feedback about EIP.
At the conference, Xerox will announce the "2007 Partner of the Year" for the Platinum, Gold and Silver level partners.
Xerox will also honor a developer level partner for the "Most Innovative EIP Solution."
The conference is sponsored by Nuance, Equitrac, Notable Solutions, Inc; X-Solutions, YSoft, EFI, ESP, Omtool Ltd., SafeCom and Visioneer, Inc.
