US Energy Corp and PetroQuest spud second well in Highlands Prospect, Louisiana

Oct 02, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- PQUE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- US Energy Corp (NasdaqCM:USEG), a natural resources exploration and development company with interests in molybdenum, oil and gas and real estate, declared on 1 October that PetroQuest Energy LLC (NYSE:PQ) has spudded the Highlands Prospect in Louisiana, in which US Energy Corp has a 20% working interest.

According to US Energy Corp the initial well will be drilled to a depth of approximately 13,700 feet, targeting a resource of 12 BCFE.

Drilling of this well, which is the second well in the three well drilling project, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008.
