The partnership between Aon Consulting's Health & Benefits' Center for Predictive Data unit and HDMS will allow clients in the middle market to receive quarterly analytic reports consisting of medical and prescription claims and eligibility data. These reports will help employers identify and evaluate opportunities to improve health care outcomes and control costs through more effective vendor management, cost management and health management. Additionally, these reports will enable organizations to benchmark their employee population's health care trends and data against the market, employer size and industry. Aon Consulting currently provides similar analytic reports to large market clients.

"This partnership clearly demonstrates our dedication to providing data-driven health care cost solutions to clients across all markets," said John Zern, executive vice president with Aon Consulting and Health & Benefits national practice director. "These robust, evidence-based reports, coupled with Aon Consulting's middle market health and benefits suite of services, will give organizations a clear understanding of where to invest health care dollars, improve health care strategies and implement new programs," he said.

"Many companies are taking a 'shot in the dark' approach when implementing health care cost reduction programs," said Michael Taggart, senior vice president with Aon Consulting and director of the Center for Predictive Data. "In order to effectively manage cost, while providing the most appropriate health care benefits, a company needs to make decisions with accurate and detailed information. The partnership with HDMS further enhances our ability to match the right health care solutions with our clients' needs."

"HDMS is excited about our new partnership with Aon. Mid-sized companies have a strong interest in reviewing their own experience in an easy to understand, cost-effective format. HDMS' analytic reporting coupled with Aon's strong suite of services targeted to this segment should make this a very successful offering," said Mary Henderson, president, HDMS.
