ConocoPhillips announces management changes

Oct 03, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- COP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ConocoPhillips has announced that John Carrig, currently executive vice president of finance and CFO, will become president and COO; while Jim Gallogly, currently executive vice president of refining, marketing and transportation, will become executive vice president of exploration and production.

Mr Carrig will report to chairman and CEO, Jim Mulva. Willie Chiang, currently senior vice president of commercial operations, will become senior vice president of refining, marketing and transportation.

Greg Goff, currently president of strategy, integration and specialty businesses for refining, marketing and transportation, will become senior vice president of commercial operations. Ryan Lance will remain president of exploration and production of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Sig Cornelius, currently senior vice president of planning, strategy and corporate affairs (PS&CA), will become senior vice president of finance, and CFO. Jeff Sheets, currently vice president and treasurer, will become senior vice president of planning and strategy.

Red Cavaney, who will retire from his position as president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute on October 31, 2008, will become senior vice president of government and public affairs in November 2008. Fran Vallejo, currently general manager, corporate planning and budgets of PS&CA, will become vice president and treasurer, finance.

John Lowe, currently executive vice president of exploration and production, has expressed his desire to reduce the scope of his current activities in order to devote more time to his personal interests. Therefore, Mr Lowe will now serve as assistant to the CEO.
