Airspan launches new suite of mobile WiMAX subscriber products

Oct 03, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- AIRN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Airspan Networks, a provider of WiMAX-based broadband wireless access networks, has launched a new suite of mobile WiMAX subscriber products. The new MiMAX next-generation devices expand the company's mobile WiMAX portfolio to provide high-capacity internet connectivity, VoIP and Wi-Fi capabilities.

According to the company, its new MiMAX products combines advanced signal processing with full MIMO capabilities and high power to ensure maximum performance, capacity and range. The new MiMAX indoor and outdoor devices include features such as single or dual VoIP ports, integrated router and Wi-Fi options, and are available in single-band configurations in the 2GHz to 3GHz frequency range.

Uzi Shalev, chief operations officer at Airspan, said: "Too many WiMAX vendors are shipping immature products that in some cases have negatively affected customer business cases and reputations. Airspan has always focused on being the first to market with complete solutions and industry-leading technology. For example, we offered the MiMAX Q-Series USB with features that are still only available from Airspan even a year after its release."
