According to spokeswoman Robin Newberry, Officer James Davis reported that Recruit Officer James Riley was driving north on Joe Clifton Drive and had stopped to make a left turn onto Harrison Street. Riley turned into the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven south on Joe Clifton Drive by Richard D. Hobbs, 47, of Yarbro Lane.
The motorcycle hit the cruiser in the passenger side. Hobbs and his passenger, Kim A. Reed, 37, of Yarbro Lane -- who were both wearing helmets -- were thrown from the motorcycle. They were taken by ambulance to Western Baptist Hospital where Reed was treated and released. Hobbs was still undergoing evaluation Sunday evening. No condition was available. Riley was not injured.
Newberry said Sgt. Darryl Carr of the McCracken County Sheriff's Department was reconstructing the accident at the request of the Paducah Police Department.
