Australia's Human Services Minister Joe Ludwig said his department plans to review its ICT requirements as part of a broader service delivery reform. "Rather than re-enter another five- to seven-year contract for ICT services, we have negotiated a 12-month extension to allow the opportunity for a strategic reassessment of our ICT needs to take place," he said.
The contract follows IBM's A$10m ($7.7m) July contract from the Australian Government to support its Standard Business Reporting initiative, and a three-year contract awarded in April by the Northern Territory Government in Australia to provide maintenance and support for its System z hardware and software.
