Ibis received up to USD4.2m from the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) agency to fund the utilisation of Ibis' commercial influenza assay as well as to provide funding for the development of assays to detect a broad range of additional agricultural pathogens. In addition, Ibis signed an agreement for a new project with NIJ for a term of two years to fund, develop and implement its next-generation human forensics markers. The company also received new contracts from other US government agencies to fund the expansion of pathogen detection and identification assays as well as the use of Ibis' assay services laboratory. Additionally, Ibis has successfully completed the first year of a US National Institutes of Health grant with Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (LRRI), in which the Ibis influenza assay characterised over 2,000 tissue extracts to study animal models of influenza transmission. Through LRRI, Ibis has been awarded the next year of funding to continue these efforts.
