Legend International Holdings, Inc (OTCBB: LGDI), with phosphate projects in the State of Queensland, Australia, announced Friday that Billionaire investor George Soros holds a 5.19-percent passive stake in the Australian mining firm. Soros Fund Management reported in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it owns 11.7 million shares of Legend.

Microsoft Corp. The addition of Den Bla Avis (dba.dk) and BilBasen (bilbasen.dk) to eBay's global classifieds portfolio positions the company as a leader in the online classifieds market in Denmark and further strengthens the company's world-leading portfolio of online classifieds sites that already includes Marktplaats, Kijiji, LoQUo, Gumtree and mobile.de. eBay's online classifieds business now has a presence in more than 20 countries and 1,000 cities.
Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. (NASDAQ:SLXP), up 1% on 1 million shares, today announced findings from two analyses of a Phase II clinical trial that demonstrate the utility of rifaximin, a non-absorbed, gut-selective antibiotic, in the treatment of patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Data presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) showed that patients treated with rifaximin demonstrated that the severity of baseline IBS symptoms of abdominal pain and bloating predicted clinical response to rifaximin and demonstrated statistically greater clinical improvement in quality of life compared with placebo.
