The airline reported a load factor for the month of 79.9%, on a consolidated basis with Jazz, as compared to 78.7% in September 2007, showing an increase of 1.2 percentage points.
A decrease of 5.0%, on a capacity decrease of 6.4% system wide, was announced for system traffic.
In addition, Air Canada's mainline reported a load factor of 80.9%, as compared to 79.1% in September 2007, showing an increase of 1.8 percentage points. Air Canada also flew 4.8% less revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in the month, as compared to September 2007 on a capacity decrease of 6.9%.
Jazz flew 7.3% less RPMs in September 2008 as compared to September 2007, whilst capacity decreased by 1.6%, leading to a load factor of 69.2%.
