Oct 08, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- BAIRY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- British Airways has announced that it will launch a new service from the Gatwick Airport in London, UK, to the Caribbean island of St Kitts on January 10, 2009.

The airline will operate weekly flights on Saturdays from the Gatwick Airport to St Kitts. British Airways has also announced that it will increase flights to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Johannesburg, South Africa in summer 2009.

Adam Daniels, head of leisure sales at British Airways, said: "This new route to St Kitts underlines our commitment both to the Caribbean and Gatwick and re-establishes a connection between the UK and the island. The introduction of St Kitts as a British Airways route means that we now operate to 11 destinations in the Caribbean."
