CalAmp declares results for Q2 fiscal 2009

Oct 08, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- CAMP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- CalAmp Corp (Nasdaq: CAMP), a provider of wireless products, services and solutions, on 7 October reported results for the second quarter of fiscal 2009 ended 31 August 2008. Consolidated revenues for the quarter totalled USD23.3m, as compared with USD32.7m in the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. The decrease in revenues was reportedly a result of significantly lower sales of the company's satellite products.

For the first six months of fiscal 2009 consolidated revenues were USD51.2m, as compared with USD79.1m in the first six months of the prior fiscal year.

GAAP net loss for the quarter was USD1.5m or USD0.06 per share, an improvement over a GAAP net loss of USD4.4m or USD0.19 per share in the corresponding quarter of the prior fiscal year.

For the first six months of the fiscal year net loss was USD2.0m or USD0.08 per share, as compared with a net loss of USD15.7m or USD0.67 per share in the first six month of fiscal 2008.
