General Dynamics awarded $183m US Navy deal

Oct 09, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- GD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- US-based defense contractor General Dynamics has won a five-year $183m contract from the US Naval Air Systems Command to provide integrated logistics support services for Naval Aviation Foreign Military Sales programs.

General Dynamics will provide logistics, technical program management, configuration management, financial management, acquisition and administrative support. It will also support program planning, requirements determination, site activation, transportation and delivery, and acquisition and tracking of procurement items.

The deal follows a $25.7m contract awarded in September by the US Naval Air Systems Command to General Dynamics to provide program management services for the Swiss government's F/A-18 Hornet fighter fleet.
