SHENZHEN, Oct 09, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- DPHIR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- U.S.-based car TV maker Delphi Corporation is set to extend its reach to China in the coming two years.

Henry Kong, high-end product development manager of Delphi in Asia, says that the company is in talks with a Chinese partner at the moment and it hopes to come up with products customized for the Chinese market by 2010.

Now the U.S. is taking a lead in the digital car TV sector. As for Delphi, it is taking more than 80% of the digital car TV market in the U.S.

Last year Delphi joined hands with Sirius Satellite Radio to launch a Sirius Backseat TV, which has been adopted by Chrysler.

The biggest problem in China now is that regulators are feuded over two digital TV standards. And the Chinese government is hoping to kick off digital TV signals with higher quality. Delphi says that it had developed a chip set that is compatible with the two standards.
