Zon Tv Cabo upgrades to Convergys Infinys 3.0

Oct 10, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- CVG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Zon Tv Cabo, a cable and satellite operator in Portugal, has upgraded to Convergys's Infinys 3.0 rating and billing engine to support rollout of advanced services.

According to Convergys, Zon Tv Cabo will upgrade its legacy system to Convergys's Infinys Rating and Billing (IRB) version 3.0 to support its countrywide cable and satellite network, and triple play service offerings and help it introduce new services planned for later 2008. A team of Convergys specialists will work on the upgrade project with Zon Tv Cabo in Lisbon.

Joao Goncalves, billing director of Zon Tv Cabo, said: "From the time we began working with Convergys, we found that its Infinys rating and billing engine helped us support our drive to become more customer-focused, while improving the evolution of our product line. Upgrading to the latest version of Infinys Rating and Billing will enable us to introduce new services such as mobile telephony and high definition TV more rapidly."

Riki Allon, senior vice president and general manager for EMEA region at Convergys, said: "Zon Tv Cabo has a keen understanding of its market and an exciting product strategy. Our solution is a close fit with their business model, and Infinys Rating and Billing 3.0's sophisticated functionality will enable the company to leverage future opportunities in the competitive Portuguese market."
