Cinterion XT65 and XT75 Modules Released in North America

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Oct 10, 2008 (ASCRIBE NEWS via COMTEX) -- SI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Cinterion Wireless Modules (formerly Siemens Wireless Modules), a supplier of GSM wireless modules, announced that its XT65 and XT75 GSM communication modules are approved and commercially available for the North American Market.

The company said that the quad-band modules, which were designed for economical tracking and tracing solutions, have achieved PCTRB, FCC and network certification with the largest North American GSM carrier. The combination of GPS and GSM technologies are made possible through a special integrated design approach of both functionalities, leading to an operational coexistence which minimizes interferences while maximizing performance. With Java Open Platform, the pre-approved modules enable development of complex Java applications, reduce integration costs and shorten the time it takes to bring a new solution to market.

"The pre-approved XT65 and XT75 modules provide OEMs with a development edge by lowering costs, improving the ease of integration and aiding the certification process which can add months to development timelines," said Peter Fowler, president of the Cinterion Wireless Modules, North America. "These new tracking and tracing modules demonstrate Cinterion's commitment to offering the highest quality products available combined with strong carrier relationships and expert engineering support."

The GPRS based XT65 and EDGE (E-GPRS) based XT75 are for applications such as vehicle tracking, personal emergency call systems, fleet management solutions and navigation systems.
