PowerRating -- Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE: S), a provider of wireless and wireline
communications services, introduced its new Sprint Secure WAN
Acceleration service on 13 October.
Secure WAN Acceleration provides application acceleration and file
access to remote offices and is an extension to Sprint's managed
services portfolio. The service gives large enterprises and
organisations control over Wide Area Network (WAN) traffic, enabling
business-critical applications to be accelerated, malicious or unwanted
traffic to be stopped and unimportant traffic to be managed or
mitigated. It can also be paired with Sprint's Multiprotocol Label
Switching Virtual Private Network (MPLS VPN) solution, as an additional
tool to help ensure WAN efficiency.
