This partnership combines xkoto's database virtualization technology with Triton's more than a dozen years of experience working with DB2 and other IBM Information Management products for a wide range of UK companies, according to the company.
"Together we can offer mutual customers a combination of superior implementation services with database virtualization technology that will increase their competitiveness," said Julian Stuhler, Principal Consultant, Triton Consulting and IDUG President. "We are pleased to be working with xkoto as its Gridscale software provides us with a critical solution to address the High Availability and Disaster Recovery needs of our clients."
According to the company, Gridscale database virtualization software manages multiple, identical databases to run on a cluster of systems with the same or better reliability and performance than more expensive, proprietary systems. Because Gridscale is an active-active solution, all the servers in the cluster are accessible, fully utilized, and can be dispersed geographically to mitigate disaster scenarios. In addition, systems continue to run to their full capability even when individual servers are taken offline for maintenance.
"With a first class team of fully qualified IBM consultants, Triton is able to provide a full range of services," said David Patrick, President and CEO, xkoto. "Our partnership broadens the avenues of opportunity for xkoto in the UK market and the addition of Gridscale to the Triton portfolio further strengthens its position as one of the top consultants for HA and DR solutions."
