The Open IPTV Forum is a telecom industry organization that is specialized in establishment of telecom standards, helping telecom carriers, consumer electronics manufactures, and network architecture suppliers around the world to deploy IPTV service.
By the end of June 2008, the Rolling Stream end-to-end IPTV system rolled out by UTStarcom has recorded 956,000 online users thus far. The system is boasting of a system capacity of 2.5 million users.
President of the Open IPTV Forum says that as IPTV has been well received by users around the globe, the forum hopes to cement its presence in the industry by absorbing more top-ranking innovative companies.
