The joint solution reportedly combines the deduplication capabilities of Data Domain storage systems with the intelligent file virtualisation capabilities of the F5 ARX series, to provide users with live access to efficient, low-cost storage resources. The companies have completed interoperability testing to ensure integration into user environments, production stability and simplified management.
According to the companies, the solution offers the benefits of lowered storage costs, reduced backup windows and costs and simplified administration as well as easy integration into existing storage environments.
In addition to providing a joint solution, Data Domain has become a member of F5's Technology Alliance Program and F5 is now a Data Domain Technology Partner. No financial details were disclosed.
