The restructuring will result in the consolidation of Sonic's Advanced Technology Group and Roxio division into a single business unit. The company said that the combination will unify Sonic's OEM licensing efforts, eliminate organizational redundancies, and improve product design methods and processes.
Sonic said it expects to incur one-time severance and other related costs of $2.5 million.
Novato, California-based Sonic Solutions offers products designed to enable the creation, management, and use of digital media content.
Sonic's products range from authoring systems used to produce Hollywood DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles to its Roxio-branded photo, video, music, and digital-media management applications and services.
