The new product is claimed to provide third party fire and theft cover with new rating factors, which allows individual risks to be priced accurately. The new rating factors and pricing are expected to provide competitive quotes for safer, low risk drivers.
According to the company, AXA Car customers will have their own dedicated case handlers who will update them on key stages of the claim using SMS text messages. Claims will be dealt within the UK so each customer will have a claims handler based in either the Birmingham or Ipswich offices. A new quality control system has also been implemented which sets specific measures and targets to ensure that customers receive optimum service throughout their claim.
The company has said that the AXA Car is being rolled out to all partners by the end of January 2009. It is currently available through software houses Insurecom, CDL and SSP and partners Kwik Fit Insurance Services and Swinton.
Existing personal lines intermediary (PLI) motor products Conwy and Premier 35 will eventually be replaced by AXA Car, although they will still be available for mid-term adjustments, renewals and on some specialist schemes.
Mike Keating, managing director of PLI at AXA Insurance, said: "Motor is an important and growing area for us and this product which is specifically targeted to a certain type of driver will help us to become one of the top five providers in the market by 2012."
