The orders are the first of more than 20 landing gear components for use on large, commercial aircraft.
Under a five-year agreement, ZKM Forging will make the components at its factory in Stalowa Wola, Poland beginning in December. Financial terms were not disclosed.
In an announcement, Ray Knutilla, managing director, European operations for Ladish, said: "Technical advances at ZKM, from material preparation and forging, to inspection and value-added machining, have laid the foundation for a ramp up of orders for highly technical aerospace forgings."
Founded in 1978, ZKM Forging was acquired by Cudahy-based Ladish in 2005. ZKM serves aerospace and industrial markets including transportation, mining and construction equipment.
Ladish makes highly engineered metal components for the jet engine, aerospace and general industrial markets. Ladish has operations in Wisconsin, California, Connecticut, Oregon and Poland.
