AMEX recently launched its AMEX Platinum Credit Card that richly rewards new cardholders who maximize the cards benefits within three months of acquisition.
Juancho Cagampan, senior manager of AMEX, said the program is aimed at travel enthusiasts and offers 26,250 AMEX Membership Rewards (MR) Points (22,250 of which are awarded as bonus points) to new members who spend at least Php180,000 within three months from card approval date.
Cagampan said 26,250 AMEX Membership Rewards point are equivalent to 15,000 air miles from one of AMEXs frequent airline partners.
This amount of miles can be traded in for round-trip tickets to any of the selected Asian destinations under the airlines frequent flyer program.
We have come up with a very easy way to get ticket to any of these destinations. Its our way of encouraging card members to explore the many benefits that come with the card, Cagampan said.
Card members who spend less than Php180,000 but more than Php120,000 within three months of acquiring their cards are rewarded with a weekend stay at the Mandarin Oriental Manila.
In addition, card members have access to a round-the-clock concierge service and travel service within the Philippines and eight key Asian-Pacific cities, financial flexibility as well as other perks, Cagampan said.
The concierge can do restaurant recommendations and bookings, hotel referrals and golf reservations within the Philippines.
AMEX members also have access while they are on the road in Asia to a travel counselor who can offer not only advice on routes and schedules but also charge air tickets against ones card.
Before boarding international flights, card members also have free access for themselves and one companion at the airport lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). LDV/LBV
