Campbell Police issued two photograph today of the suspect taken from video cameras inside the banks. He's shown as a white man with short brown hair in his late 20s to early 30s, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 160 pounds.
In all the robberies, witnesses' accounts and photos have shown him wearing a white dress shirt, a blue jacket with a red lining and a dark blue watch cap. In one of the photos, he is also wearing a dark tie.
"He was just seen casing some banks in Los Gatos, too, we've just heard," said Campbell police detective. Tom Rogers. "He's just on a spree now. He's making off with big money."
Rogers wasn't specific, but said the suspect stole $14,000 from one of the banks.
The most recent robbery occurred Monday at a Washington Mutual bank in Campbell, where a witness saw the suspect run into a white van that was parked at a nearby business. Police say the suspect robbed another Washington Mutual Bank in Pleasanton on Oct. 30, and the Guaranty Bank in Campbell on Oct. 31.
Police said the suspect's modus operandi is pretty simple: He enters the bank and hands a demand note to a teller. The note says the suspect has a gun, although he has never produced a weapon.
No one has been hurt in any of
the robberies.
