The Adverse Drug Reaction Center of Mainland China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) lately notified the company that the Depile Capsules could result in the damage of liver. In the past, Vital Pharmaceutical merely sold such a harmful product in the mainland.
Presently, this pharmaceuticals producer has suspend production and distribution of the Depile Capsules, and it takes the initiative in taking back the existing products, said people familiar with the matter.
In the first three quarters ended September 30, 2008, the sales value of the Depile Capsule just accounted for about 1.2% of Vital Pharmaceutical's total turnover. But the production suspension is predicted to bring about much negative influence on the company in the near future.
