To ensure that the Motorcycles received instant acceptance in the country, the company disclosed that it is partnering with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Association of Okada Riders in Lagos State. The company said the two bodies have tested the Motorcycles and have given them pass mark based on the features that would ensure safe riding that are embedded in the Motorcycles.
At a parley with the leaders of the Association of Okada riders in Lagos State recently, the National Sales Manager, TEC, Mr. Nnamdi Adiwe, disclosed that the company was doing a unique thing by partnering with the Okada riders, so that members of the association could get some discount off the price of the Motorbikes and also have the advantage of after sales services.
He explained that the Motorcycles, which came in two speed formats - Speed-1 (100cc) and Speed 11 (125cc) have features that surpass any of the known brands in the country.
He said for instance, the motorcycles come with a giant tank of 14 litres with a 2.5litres reserve. They are equipped with a fuel switch and a fuel filter as well as a high beam-round head light for clearer illumination at night. Other features in the Bikes include a mobile sign indicator and a rear shock absorber with air cushion system to offer smooth ride.
The motorcycles are also equipped with a 160km speedometer for maximum speed and have a red alarm signal inbuilt to warn the rider if the speed is becoming too tempting.
He said the motorcycles also come with tool kit for easy maintenance.
He disclosed that the TEC motorcycles are the only bikes with magnetism float technology, a newly engineered nanometer ball bearing that reduces the friction between the surfaces. This attribute, he said, would result to a reduction in resistance and noise and also assist the bikes to produce more power with a capacity of low fuel consumption.
The Bikes, he noted, could also travel up to 10 kilometres if the engine oil is down.
On safety, he said the company had an arrangement with the FRSC to distribute some reflective materials to okada riders and would also intensify the partnership to include the provision of periodic seminars to Okada riders.
He disclosed that the company has gone into the production of banners and leaflets to educate okada riders on ways to conduct themselves while riding motorcycles.
Business Development Executive of TEC, Mr. Roy Chatterjee, said Thermocool has become a Nigerian brand that is known for its quality range of products, noting that the Motorcycles are of the best quality that Nigerians would enjoy.
Chairman of the Okada Riders Association in Lagos State, Mr. Perkings Tijani, said that members of the association have tested the Motorcycles and found them to be of good quality. He said the association would educate its members to always go for a quality product so as to preserve the lives of the riders and that of the passengers.
"It is obvious that commercial motorcycle has come to stay. What we are saying is sanity. The association does not belief in wrong doing in the name of economic situation. We have tested the Motorcycles and we have found out that they are good. What the engineers have put together is something that is worth its salt. We are partnering with TEC Motorcycles so that the good things put together by TEC can be enjoyed by our people and the entire Lagosians," he said.
