As the sixth CEO for Microsoft Greater China Region since the company extended its reach into China 16 years ago, Mr. Leung will be responsible for overseeing Microsoft's operations and development strategies to guide its continued expansion in the region, said the software developer.
Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Leung worked as president for Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Asia Pacific since 1999, in charge of the mobile phone giant's network and basic infrastructure operation in Asia Pacific.
On the other hand, Ya-Qin Zhang, who served as Microsoft Greater China Region CEO after the previous chief stepped down one year ago, will continue taking charge of the China Research and Development Group for Microsoft as corporate vice president.
