ooVoo appoints new COO

Nov 18, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- VG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ooVoo, a US-based provider of video communication services, has appointed Louis Holder as its new COO. He will report to Philippe Schwartz, CEO of the company, and be responsible for product marketing, product management, operations and overall product strategy.

Mr Holder co-founded Vonage, a residential VoIP phone company where he was responsible for managing the technology and operations. In April 2005 he accepted the role of president of Novega Venture Partners, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vonage Holdings, where he was responsible for the development of new business and product offerings that included launching Vonage's mobile division.

In addition, Mr Holder has held positions with Cantor Fitzgerald and PaineWebber with responsibility for developing automated trading systems for financial markets. Most recently he held the position of chief technology officer with Narrowstep, a company engaged in bringing traditional television programming to the online world.

Mr Schwartz said: "Lou brings strategic thinking and proven executive experience that will help ooVoo achieve its business goals and guide the company toward its vision of bringing the people of the world closer together through the use of our unique technology."
