They probably will be sold.
"In the past we've left too many buildings sitting there," said Kirk Humphreys, board chairman. "Some of these schools are in locations that just don't work."
Superintendent Karl Springer also told board members he plans to present a 2009 bond issue proposal to the board at next month's meeting.
Springer said he advocates getting repair and renovation projects done quicker.
Board members also discussed the Devon Energy tax increment finance district. Board members asked Humphreys about the district and why the board didn't have more input in the issue.
"We clearly had a stake and there was no discussion," Horning said.
Humphreys said Oklahoma City can create the TIF district without input from the school board and that Devon would not build without one. Humphreys said the district won't lose any ad valorem funds because the location now is a parking lot.
