Tullett's regional management and its electronic broking division will report to Duckworth, who was previously chief executive for Europe, Middle East and Africa at the company.
Duckworth replaces Tony Verrier who joined Tullett's rival BGC Partners Inc alongside Leonard Harvey who headed the Asia-Pacific region at Tullett, BGC said earlier this month.
Tullett said Barry Dennahy, chief executive for Asia-Pacific, and Angus Wink had joined the company's executive committee. Wink is also taking up Duckworth's former role.
Tullett Prebon was in merger talks with smaller U.S. competitor GFI Group Inc, a deal seen by analysts as a good fit for both companies, but ended the discussions in September over disagreements.
That was the second time talks had failed between the two brokers, which were looking to join forces against leader ICAP Plc. The negotiations broke down in July last year.
