According to the company, to make these enhancements, it installed its advanced EV-DO Rev A (Evolution-data Optimized, Revision A) hardware and software on the remaining 106 cell sites needing upgrading across Indiana, and it activated an additional 55 EV-DO cell sites in the state.
Greg Haller, president of Indiana/Kentucky/Michigan region at Verizon Wireless, said: "We know 3G, EV-DO and Rev. A sound like part of a technical alphabet soup. But, here's what they mean for Hoosiers: All Verizon Wireless customers in Indiana--our network now covers 31,186 square miles of the state and 95.6% of the population--have access to a wide array of broadband services on the nation's most reliable high-speed network."
