Operating revenues for the period amounted to SEK312.3m, down from SEK378.8m in the corresponding period a year ago.
Earnings per share before dilution amounted to a loss of SEK0.23, down from a profit of SEK0.77 ion the second quarter last financial year.
Hemtex has initiated a cost reduction plan to cut costs by at least SEK25m per year. The company is also considering the sale or closure of around 10 of its stores.
Hemtex, headquartered in Boras, Sweden, sells home textiles through its own and franchise stores. The company has 220 Hemtex stores in the Nordic countries, Estonia and Poland, and reported sales of SEK1.6bn in 2007/2008.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.35 Swedish kronor (SEK).
