Despite taking a loss in their only two games at the state tournament McCreary gave a solid effort, losing by three, 31-28, to Clay County and falling by eight, 47-39, to Pulaski Southern after leading by a point going to the final quarter of play. Candace Foster and Kisha Gibson led the way for the Lady Raiders against Clay County scoring 15 and 12 points respectively with Gibson's points all coming via the three pointers. In the contest with Southern McCreary took a 21-20 lead to the locker room at the half and held a 30-29 advantage at the end of the third period but a loss of Foster and starter Lyndsey Vanover to fouls turned out to be costly as the Lady Raiders were outscored 18-9 in the fourth quarter. Kaylee Shepherd and Gibson led McCreary in scoring with nine points each and Brittany King added eight.
During the regular season the Lady Raiders compiled a record of 5-1 against Monticello, Wayne County and Southern. Students from those schools will attend Southwestern, Monticello and Wayne County High Schools. Those schools along with McCreary Central make up the 48th district of the high school basketball alignment. McCreary beat Monticello twice, 48-26 and 47-26, split with Wayne County beating them 41-27 at McCreary but losing 47-36 on the road. The Lady Riders also handled Southern Middle in easy fashion 46-24 and 48-22 before falling to them at the state tournament.
McCreary split games against Pulaski Northern, Somerset and Whitley while winning twice over Oneida, Williamsburg, Lynn Camp and winning their only game against Winfield. Knox County was the only team the Lady Raiders did not post a win against in two games.
