Media Advisory: Their Excellencies to Host an Art Matters Forum on "A Passion for Reading" in Conjunction With the 2008 Governor General's Literary Awards

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Nov 27, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- ROIAK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Their Excellencies the Right Honourable MichaA-A?1/2lle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond are pleased to invite the public to an Art Matters forum on the theme: A Passion for Reading. The forum, organized in conjunction with the 2008 Governor General's Literary Awards, will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Main Library of the Ottawa Public Library (120 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa).

CBC MontrA-A?1/2al Radio One Arts and Culture reporter Jeanette Kelly will be the moderator for the evening. Four panellists will open the discussion: Kerry Clare, writer and blogger; GeneviA-A?1/2ve CA-A?1/2tA-A?1/2, illustrator; Myriam Cusson, general and artistic director of the Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury; and Margaret Eaton, president of ABC CANADA Literacy Foundation. Also taking part in the discussion will be some of this year's Literary Awards laureates. The public will then be invited to share their comments and observations on the theme.

Members of the public must register by email at conference@gg.ca before Friday, December 5, 2008, as seating is limited. This forum is presented in collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts (http://www.canadacouncil.ca/) and the support of CBC. For more information, visit www.literature.gg.ca .
