Moore was born in Durham. At the ripe old age of 10, he had his own radio show on local radio station WTIK. After leaving Durham, Moore put together a band called The Jades and played all over the tri-city area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The Jades began playing concerts with such greats as Patty LaBelle, Shep & The Limelites, The Drifters, The Coasters, Jackie Wilson, The 4 Seasons, The Platters and so many more. In 1965, a musical review was born, "The Jades & J'Adorables." Along with partners Tommy Ronca, Kenny Howe and three beautiful dancers, the review opened in 1966 at Las Vegas' Flamingo Hotel in The Driftwood Lounge for a two week booking, but lasted five years. The production was one of the first self-contained production shows with dancers, comedy, live band and their own sound system with echo and effects. He went on to entertain in and direct The Brothers, a four-piece comedy/musical group that became very popular with their own Saturday night TV show. Moore also bought a night club called The El Jardin and preformed there as The Brothers doing live music and concerts with Herman's Hermits, Rare Earth, Gary Puckett, Little Anthony and many more. After producing, directing and entertaining in many well know productions, Moore formed Springtime Productions, to produce theatrical production shows, such as "American Superstars" at The Stratosphere Hotel. Today Moore has one of the longest running careers as a producer/director in Las Vegas -- 42 years and still going strong. Moore maintains ties to Durham, visiting the area and keeping in touch with friends here. To see more of The Herald-Sun, or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.herald-sun.com.
