Mr Mooradian is returning to Synovis, where he was director of R&D and principal scientist from 2001 to 2004. Prior to rejoining Synovis, he served as director of the research and technology center within the cardiac rhythm management and neuromodulation businesses of Boston Scientific. Mr Mooradian succeeds recently retired Nicholas Oray, vice president of R&D for the last 10 years.
Mr Mooradian has received a PhD in experimental pathology from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, and his bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Richard Kramp, president and CEO of Synovis, said: "Dan has an impressive medical device research background, having worked at Boston Scientific and other medical companies. We are excited to have him back. With more than 20 years of experience in both industry and academia, including several years at Synovis, he can hit the ground running, because he knows our technology so well, particularly our Veritas remodelable biomaterial."
