The new agreement gives Ferring Pharmaceuticals exclusive rights to distribute BioGaia's Probiotic Drops in Ireland and exclusive rights to distribute BioGaia's Probiotic Drops and Tablets in Bahrain, Yemen, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
"We are very happy to again expand the contract with Ferring into these interesting markets. Ferring is taking the BioGaia brand to markets we have not been before and it is yet another step in our effort to build a global probiotic brand," said Peter Rothschild, president of BioGaia.
BioGaia, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, develops and sells probiotic products solutions based on the probiotic bacillus Lactobacillus reuteri. The company has 39 employees and reported net sales of SEK106.6m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.30 Swedish kronor (SEK).
