Tibotec Pharmaceuticals signs licence agreement with Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited for darunavir (DRV) in India

PowerRating -- Tibotec Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical research and development
company and a member of the Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) family of
companies, said on 3 December that the company has entered into a
royalty-free, non-exclusive licence agreement with Emcure
Pharmaceuticals Limited of India for the distribution of the protease
inhibitor darunavir (DRV) in India, which will ensure access to
innovative HIV/AIDS therapies. A
The company has been cooperating with regulatory authorities in India
to register darunavir. When approved, darunavir, co-administered with
ritonavir and with other antiretroviral agents (ARVs), is expected to
be indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
infection in antiretroviral treatment experienced adult patients.
According to Tibotec Pharmaceuticals darunavir is currently registered
in 79 countries worldwide.
